From pizza delivery guy to Network Support Technician | Josh Champion
Picture something with me: You’re in your late 30s, maybe early 40s, you’re bringing in around 12,000 dollars a year as a pizza delivery guy. You smell like yeast and tomato paste on the regular, and you’re going through the motions, making it another day only to have to do it all again.
That was Josh Champion's reality. His daily grind was becoming more than disheartening. The stress that came with being short on funds more often than not was starting to take its toll — that nagging, relentless anxiety in the back of his mind like a parasite.
Josh needed to make some changes.
That’s where we come in. Josh found us, and we recognized the potential for true championship quality. All he needed was the support, the right resources, and a little more of that hard work he was used to putting in. But this time, he was working towards a better life.
“The career services team and the entire learning experience has been invaluable,” says Josh.
Our top-notch career coaches helped him build up his resume, which in turn gained the attention of his new employers. Josh landed a Network Support Technician position and hasn’t looked back.
“After the evaluation is complete, I could be making anything from 40-45 thousand a year.”
Along with his newfound zest for life and his career, he’s reconnected with family, found new supporters, and skyrocketed his mental health in terms of financial stability.
“I didn’t realize the opportunities that were out there, and overall, money has been an issue for me. I don’t feel that worry right now. I feel like in the next 3 years I can be making well over 6 figures.”
Josh has found his champion heart — it was always there, waiting to come out. And now? He’s on track to a life he had never imagined.
It can feel easier to stay in places you don’t belong when there’s stability, familiarity, and comfort pinning you there. It’s much easier to remain inactive than it is to act. You know what they say; a body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest stays at rest.
This goes for mental blocks, also. You have to choose to step forward, away, to the side — whatever makes the most sense for your situation, as long as it’s taking you away from what’s holding you in place.
“Thanks to NexGenT, I have the confidence and the ability to do anything I want to do in life and in my career.”
